Every Thursday morning from 7am to 12pm, the wonderful Maryborough City Markets come to life. They are enjoyed by many locals and visitors in the central business district of the city of Maryborough, located on the beautiful Fraser Coast in Queensland. Maryborough’s city centre undergoes an amazing transformation into a colourful outdoor heritage bazaar.
Wander around a large range of stalls with an amazing array of farm fresh produce and unique wares, original hand-made craft, homemade treats, artwork, jewellery, clothing, accessories, natural beauty products and gorgeous cut flowers.
Meet the Town Crier and hear the firing of the historic Time Cannon at 1pm in Town Hall Green! Soak up the atmosphere of music and entertainers while you enjoy hot food stalls and find wonderful condiments and gourmet pantry items to take home.
Make a day of it in the city and join a free guided Heritage Walking Tour from City Hall at 9am or ride The Mary Ann, a replica steam engine through nearby Queens Park. Maryborough has a unique link to the world’s most famous nanny being the birthplace of Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers. After enjoying the Markets, discover the magic of Mary Poppins by visiting The Story Bank, an interactive museum dedicated to everything Mary Poppins, storytelling and the birthplace of P.L Travers.

Fresh from the farm to you
We know it might sound corny, but it really is true when we say that the early bird catches the worm. Early rises at the Maryborough City Markets are greeted with a hot brew of organic, fairtrade coffee (thanks to the Coffee Cart of Maryborough), plenty of friendly faces, and delicious produce – straight from the farm to you.
We’re talking the freshest loaves of sourdough bread from German Bakehouse, mouth-watering homemade preserves from CC’s Kitchen, and premium quality, pasture-raised eggs from the happy hens at Brother Brother Organics. From old friends (Rene’s Exotic Olives) to new faces (Fraser Coast Mushrooms), there is always a fresh assortment of seasonal produce on offer.
Shop til’ you drop, and then refuel with the large selection to choose from for breakfast, brunch or lunch. It’s never too early to grab a gluten-free treat from Darryl’s Donuts, or a cone from Mr. Whippy Fraser Coast for that matter. And for the savoury lovers, a spud from Hot Baked Potatoes Fraser Coast or a snack from MAD Popcorn will be sure to hit the spot. Enjoy it to take away, or join us in the sunshine as we save you a spot ‘on the green’ nearby City Hall.
